The Tiger Art Gaulino reimagines an icon from BD. The Gaulino chair is an iconic work from the mind of Oscar Tusquets. The limited edition Tiger Art Gaulino joins the Gaulino Easy structure with a hand-painted seat by Tusquets. It was created to celebrate BD’s 50th anniversary and the Year of the Tiger. The painting imagines a tiger with dark stripes covering the hand-upholstered leather. Tusquets painted 50 unique pieces for the Art Editions catalogue. The chair has a rich frame made of ash with an artisanal and aesthetic intensity.

Oscar Tusquets

Oscar Tusquets, born in Barcelona in 1941, describes himself as an architect, designer, painter, and writer. After graduating as an architect, he co-founded both the Studi Per architecture firm and BD, a design company, in 1972. Tusquets' furniture and other objects have earned him a Spanish National Design Award and are featured in the collections of MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He has also been honored with the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts and the Cross of Sant Jordi, among other distinctions. Since the 1990s, he has published several books on design-related topics.
