DESIGNER
Michel Arnoult
Michel Arnoult, a Parisian-born designer, moved to Brazil in the 1950s and became a pioneer of Ready-To-Assemble (RTA) furniture. He founded Mobilia Cotemporânea in 1952, one of the first companies to specialize in flat-pack design. His approach of using standardized parts and minimal packaging made furniture affordable and easy to transport for the middle class. His designs, such as the "Ouro Preto" and "Pelicano" chairs, won prestigious awards and his concepts remain relevant today.
