The wood is sustainably sourced from local forests and handcrafted by our Amish neighbours over in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Seat and back pads available. Chairs stack 6 high. Made in USA. The Lancaster family also includes solid ash dining tables.

Designer Michael Young contacted Gregg from his studio in Hong Kong to initiate the back-and-forth design that resulted in Emeco’s first component-based chair. "The sculptural form of this chair leg could only be made in wood. When I found that Emeco had partnered with a remarkable Amish wood factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the project gelled. It is an immense privilege to work with Emeco, I am sincerely proud in a way I have not felt previously." – Michael Young

Emeco, or The Electric Machine and Equipment Company, is an American furniture brand established in 1944. Originally, it supplied furniture to the U.S. Navy, creating the legendary 1006 "Navy Chair" from recycled aluminum. This chair became an enduring classic. The brand's philosophy centers on sustainability and minimalism, using recycled and reclaimed materials like aluminum and PET plastic.
