The radical concept behind Peter Keler’s D1 armchair instantly struck a chord with Tobias Groß. The Cologne-based designer, who also reinterpreted Erich Brendel’s tea table, has again immersed himself deeply in the world of colour. His goal: to make the D1 even more striking with a modern colour scheme. Hence, he applied darker hues to the armchair’s “frame”, while going one shade lighter for the “interior”, i.e. the seat and back.

Peter Keler
Peter Keler is a key figure in Tecta's Bauhaus DNA. The connection began in 1975 when Tecta's Axel Bruchhäuser contacted Keler, a professor and artist from Weimar. Delighted that Tecta would produce his cradle, Keler gifted his original design. The Bauhaus cradle, a symbol of the movement, was designed by Keler in 1923 using a circle, triangle, and square, based on Wassily Kandinsky's theory of color and form.

Tecta is a German furniture company founded in 1956 by the Lauenstein family, based in the town of Lauenförde. The brand is particularly famous for its connection to the Bauhaus movement and for producing re-editions of iconic Bauhaus furniture designs. Tecta’s philosophy centers around combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative design, creating a modern interpretation of Bauhaus aesthetics.
